Choices 2nd Annual Chili Cookoff Benicia, CA -- Chili cookoff judging and eating at Rick McKee's favorite watering hole. Small and informal, $50 first prize. Also, AFC Championship Game on Large Screen TV. Judging is from 1:00 to 1:30. Chili is then open to the patrons for consumption and heartburn. Firewalking and Lizzard-Licking Party Kingston, WA -- Come visit our white sand beaches and live it up in our exciting nightclubs! Exotic women! Cabana boys! Incurable STDs! WetLeather Dirtbike Day @ Belfair Belfair, WA -- Meet in the gravel pit (the closest parking area) and be ready to ride at 9:30am. Morning focused on learning offroad riding skills. WetLeather ERC Beaverton, OR -- As is customary, there will be an Experienced Rider Course (ERC) held this year at Capital Center in conjunction with the Fish Fry. The class runs from 8am to 4:30pm, price is $67 per person. Reserve a spot by emailing Mark. Info on the Team Oregon Web site.

9th Annual Louisiana Food Fest & Fish Fry Vancouver, WA -- The four food groups (Cajun, Creole, Southern, and beer) will be served. Fish and hushpuppies will expire screaming in boiling oil, cabbages will wilt in thick gloppy dressing like dinosaurs expiring in tar sands, crawfish and oysters will be served screaming on the veranda, etc... The 2nd Annual Chase the Moose Ride Vancouver, BC -- Saturday, north to Whistler, over the Duffy Lake Road, and back to Vancouver. It's a great road, and a great ride. Organized by Mig and David Mather. Depart at o'dark-thirty (to avoid RVs and assorted unpleasant(cop)ness), return by Saturday night for a barbecue or something at MiG's place.

FIM World Championship Trials Goldendale, WA -- Round 6 of the World Championship Observed Trials series. See the best trials riders on the planet do their tricks in the rocks and on the hillsides near Goldendale, WA. Though not really a WetLeather event, a whole bunch of us will be there. It's close, it's the most unbelievable trick riding you'll ever see, come join us!

Lee's Maryland-Style Crab Feast Kirkland, WA -- At Lee's house, a Maryland-style crab feast. Corn on the cob, burgers, sausages, cole slaw, beer, etc., happily provided, but donations requested for the crab (recent prices were $14 per crab, but should drop before the party). RSVPs required for those eating crab (with about how many crabs you expect to consume).

Fireworks Fest Seattle, WA -- Spend the 4th on MaryAnne's condo deck, which features a panoramic view of Elliott Bay and offers front row seats for the fireworks.
