Broken People

It seems as if this has been the week, or two weeks for medical disasters. I was feeling kind of annoyed that I was going to have to take care of Mark (it *is* all about me, isn't it?). I was having a lovely Pity Party. There I was, visiting with my issues and whining. And then Tim posted about Lisa. And Gooz posted about Susan. And I found out that the five year old son of someone I like very much was being operated on for a brain tumor this morning. I think I've adjusted my point of view. Life might be stressful, and kind of boring, and demanding, but we're all alive and pretty healthy. The old commercial really is right: if you have your health, you're okay. It helps to have a fuzzy dog or a winsome grandchild, too.

I was lazy. I made egg salad

I was lazy.
I made egg salad sandwiches from the pickled eggs we had in the fridge (Leigh Ann's recipe), and a green salad with oil and vinegar dressing, a sprinkling of grated parmesan, and a large number of anchovies snipped small. I _should_ have made a boiled egg caesar salad and stir fried one of the assorted meats with some of the broccoli and a great deal of garlic.

I had a wonderful dinner

I had a wonderful dinner tonight. John showed up at my house before I got home from dealing with my parents (nothing new, just the usual stuff). By the time I got here, I had pork chops, baked potato, and green salad waiting for me. The company was the best part of the meal, though.

  • Thank you for lending us Carol. It's so much easier to take care of stuff at home when I don't have to worry about Mark. Did you know that Wendy refered to Carol as Ellen#2 and herself as Ellen#3? It seems that all of the doctors and staff were a little confused about which woman was his wife (or whatever).
