Another Nerds On Site introductory "third step" meeting this morning. I wonder if I just don't have the entrepreneurial spirit. I just can't visualize myself spending half my time driving around in a red Beetle, visiting small businesses and trying to drum up business.

Our DVD player quit working tonight. Naturally, just as we were ready to watch a movie. It was an inexpensive Toshiba unit. I took it apart this morning and poked and prodded and reseated cables and stuff. But the problem appears to be the motor that spins the DVD. Sometimes it won't spin at all. Sometimes it'll start and go around a couple of times and then quit. Once or twice I got it started by manually giving the disk a spin, and it even got enthusiastic and actually loaded the disc. But it wouldn't consistently do this.  I think he's dead, Jim. Another expense I didn't really need.
