Weekly Photo Challenge #6

I'll make the challenge this week fairly easy -

Take a photo of a neon sign near you, then play with it using your editing software of choice to create multiple 'art' images.

Here's a nice sign I found Saturday night along Hwy 99W between Corvallis and Monroe, Oregon, in several versions:

Sharpened, contrast adjusted, radial glow at 3pix applied, this is basically what my eyeballs saw.

Same as above + increase saturation to +90

Same as above + applied focal black&white filter

Interesting idea Michael!

Interesting idea Michael! Should be fun.

Seems unfair to Terry though... do they have neon in Hawaii? It seems like more of a Miami thing Laughing

Option for Terry

Hula dancers glowing in the light of a torch or three?

Heh - I'm sure there's some Neon somewhere on the island.

Part of the fun of the challenge is the hunt for the right sign.

Not to worry

I'll come up with something.

Any idea of the camera settings used?

I prefer the high-contrast version, I couldn't help but notice that both images are heavily loaded with 'noise'. Did you gain up or use a high ISO?

I like the way the windows divide the image into segments.

Thanks for sharing.

Oh - if you right click the image and save the image location to your clip-board then you can paste the actual image into the forum instead of a link to the image.

I actually prefer the

I actually prefer the original over the high-contrast version. The window frame and wall are more visible in the original, and I think this lends some visual context to the neon sign.
