Deb and I attended Americade 85 in Lake George, NY. It was our first big rally. We had started riding the year before but had mostly commuted and done a few local rides (by ourselves).
Those of you who are old enough and into photography will remember that in the mid-80s Kodak attempted to get into the instant photography business dominated by Polaroid. They came out with their own self developing instant snapshot film and cameras. To promote the new products Kodak (an upstate NY company) setup a booth at Americade and offered to take souvenir photos of anyone who showed up using their new instant photography system. How could we resist?
Although a bit dusty and scratched this Kodak instant photo survives today as a memento of that fun time. The picture has held up very well. At least as well as the Polaroids I have from the same time. I still have Polaroids from the sixties (black and white) and seventies (color) which look good. So the little Kodak snapshot has some time yet to prove it's longevity.
