1 tsp basil
1/2 tsp sage
1/2 c cream-style cottage cheese
1 c (4 oz) shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 c chopped onion
2 c herb-seasoned stuffing mix, crushed
1/3 c butter
1/2 lb (2 c) sliced fresh mushrooms
3 Tbsp whole wheat flour
dash of cayenne
2 c milk
In mixing bowl, beat together eggs, cheddar cheese, cottage cheese,
onion, basil, and sage.
Stir in stuffing mix. Mix well.
Shape into 24 balls.
Place in 12"x7"x2" baking dish. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 35 - 40 minutes.
Melt butter in saucepan and add sliced mushrooms. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes or until golden.
Stir in flour and cayenne.
Gradually stir in milk. Cook, constantly stirring, until thickened.
