Blogging here with Windows Live Writer

The blog tool I like best for being simple and free and full-featured is Windows Live Writer http://get.live.com/writer/overview. (You may have to overcome your revulsion for the fact that it comes from Microsoft) It's an offline composer that gives you a quite rich and easy to use HTML/Web editing environment. I find it much nicer than the online posting functions anyplace I've tried. It knows how to publish blog posts, and intuitively does the Right Thing to edit/revise published posts.

Installing Vista with SP1

Doublers?

Thinking of getting 2.x doubler for the Canon. I know I am gonna lose a full f-stop.

My 100-400 lens that is f4-5.6 will get "slower".

I wonder if it will still let me get those race track shots..

Any experiences Yea or Nay with doublers?

Thanks

Buying cameras and other digital electronics from online vendors

This is a fantastic and scary link:

The big guys (B&H/J&R/Adorama/Abes of Maine, etc) are competing with known scam artists.

Be very careful where you choose to buy your gear. If a price seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Here's a great resource:

Pull my pork, please!

For supper last night, Rhonda made the Diaz Pulled Pork, omitting HFCS sources, substituting pure cane sugar for molasses and soy sauce for Worcertershire, and adding lemon slices and allspice. She cooked the pork in the pressure cooker for 70 minutes. She served the sauce separately. It was excellent, with or without the sauce.

We watched 1408 last night on DVD. It's not The Shining, but it's a pretty darned good scary movie!

My first bike. Yup. I first fixed on the Seca 750 next to it, but somehow I wound up buying the leftover Maxim. It cost $2600 out of the box. I was in love. I had just finished the motorcycle safety course given at a local dealership and with completion card in hand I went shopping. Bought the Yamaha. Passed the Mass road test. Got my endorsement.

Is wetleather alive? I haven't seen mail in many hours, but our server had a bit of a spam attack.
