Ingredients:a REAL ham steak (1/2" thick with the bone in the center)
butter
cola
water
Worcestershire sauce
black pepper
garlic salt
Preparation:Get yourself the aforementioned steak and fry that puppy in a real hot heavy pan with a big dollop of butter. The ham should make a frying/sizzling sound (frizzle) and you want to get a heavy, dark browning on the meat (almost scorched in places). Take the ham steak out of the pan, cut out the bone and put it back in the pan when making the red eye gravy.

Most people use coffee for the red eye gravy; I like to use some coke, water, a dash of Worcestershire sauce, black pepper and a dash of garlic salt. When your gravy is done, put the ham back in the pan and cook an additional 2-3 minutes in the gravy so the flavors mix and get all tasty and stuff. 8^)
